The Wichita Nativity is a public exhibition of hundreds of nativities—small scenes depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. This year’s event consists of the following exhibits:
During all open hours of Wichita Nativity live music will be performed by local musicians. Come and enjoy the sounds of Christmas performed by choirs, soloists, pianists, organists, violinists and a variety of other musicians. Please continue to check the “Schedule” portion of the website for updated schedule of performers and times.
The spirit of CHRISTmas is evident as you experience a variety of Nativity scenes on display and hear the live music. This main exhibit features over 240 nativities each generously loaned from members of the community of Wichita and surrounding areas. Included are nativities crafted from porcelain, wood, yarn, glass and a wide variety of other materials. There are also nativities from foreign countries each with their own unique style. A friendly group of volunteer docents (hosts) are available to answer any questions you may have. The main Nativity exhibit is a special experience that you truly do not want to miss.
Interactive Children’s Room
This special room is designed for children of all ages. There are nativities that you are encouraged to play with, costumes to dress up in, a photo backdrop, coloring pages and a craft. Families enjoy the atmosphere where they can interact with everything on display in this room.
Life of Christ Room
The Life of Christ room which features artwork, books and small statues all focusing on the Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a gentle reminder of what is most important during the Christmas season – remembering the birth and life of Jesus Christ. You may read the simple testimonies of people from the Wichita community add your personal Witness of Christ while visiting this room.
